Do I require planning permission for my log cabin?

Return to all questions

You may require planning permission if your building is over 2.5m tall and within 2m of a boundary. However, this can vary in different areas of the country and is dependent on your local council. Factors that contribute to possible restrictions include how high your ground/base is, style of roof etc.

All our log cabins are under 2.5m tall and therefore should not require planning permission. It is always best to check with your local planning office if you are unsure about your build, as restrictions can vary between local councils.

Our staff are unable to advise if you will require planning permission and you will need to verify this yourself:
